In 2025, my husband Justin and I made a life-changing move to a farm on the South Coast to grow gourmet and medicinal mushrooms and produce handmade, organic functional mushroom tinctures. I’ve been a Traditional Chinese/Korean Medicine practitioner for over 20 years, dedicated to holistic healing, while Justin has built a career in video production, bringing stories to life through film. My interest in traditional herbal medicine began during travels in South East Asia in the 1980s and 1990s, learning from local healers in China and discovering the centuries-old medicinal properties of mushrooms for immunity, cognitive function, and overall well-being. After years of burnout, Justin from the pressures of video production, and me from caring for others without tending to myself—we sought a natural way to restore balance. The Story So Far Tom has always been a big fan of millionaire's shortbread. He was experimenting with a peanut flavoured version one day and realised that the peanut-loaded caramel filling was so good that it could be sold as a product in its own right. He made bulk batches of it and packaged it into jars, then his hot-shot graphic designer sister Claire did a design for the labels and Peanut Caramel was born. He was working as a chef at the time, and it will come as little surprise to any readers who know the typical hours of a chef that he didn't have much spare time to work on a side project such as this. Tom had to shelve the Peanut Caramel project for the time being. That was over 10 years ago... fast forward to 2024 and Peanut Caramel is back! It has a revamped classy new label design (thanks Claire), an improved recipe and an accompanying website with a growing library of delicious dessert recipes to make with it, including peanut caramel cheesecake, peanut caramel popcorn, peanut caramel and jam crème brûlée and more. Heavenly Organics Skin Care is owned by husband-and-wife, Mary-Anne & Rob. The products are handmade at their purpose-built home studio in rural West Wales. Over twelve years ago, having been vegan for several years and living an organic lifestyle as much as possible, I (Mary-Anne) found myself asking: ‘Why can’t I find 100% organic, natural and vegan skincare that is also kind to the planet?’ So many products claim to be organic and/or natural yet contain so many different chemicals, with the vast majority in plastic packaging. So, I decided to start making skin care for my own use and gifted them to friends. Having received excellent feedback and after some soul searching and with Rob’s encouragement, I took the leap. I left my full-time employment and created Heavenly Organics Skin Care. I started with just three body scrubs, and today, we have an extensive range of over 90 products and growing. From the outset, Heavenly Organics Skin Care, would be a brand that would only produce 100% organic, natural and vegan skin care. The sustainability and health of the planet and all its inhabitants is at the core of all our decision making. Therefore, all the product range is supplied in glass jars or aluminium containers. Refills are offered where possible in compostable bags. As the business has grown, winning multiple awards along the way.
