Why Kelleco?
It was back in 1995 when I first met Kelly. She was a crazy whirlwind of energy. A beautiful soul with a childish sense of fun, mixed with the most positive outlook on life.
We spent the next 24 years building a life together. Filled with endless worldwide adventures, house moves, career changes and so much more. Then in 2009 we celebrated the birth of our beautiful daughter, followed by the arrival of our crazy son in 2011.
In 2013 Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer. Months of chemotherapy and numerous surgeries followed. Despite her illness, Kelly continued to live life to the full while always putting her family first. And in 2014, we were given the fantastic news that Kelly was cancer free!
She began raising thousands of pounds for cancer charities, but while competing in the 2016 Brighton Marathon she began experiencing pains in her hip area. Further tests and exploratory procedures followed, and in 2017 we were given the devastating news that the cancer had returned but, this time, incurable.
During the numerous on-going treatments, Kelly began extensively researching the benefits of diet change plus the effects of alternative medicines, not readily available on the NHS, and the impact of exercise on long term cancer patients. Which resulted in her becoming a strong advocate for an organic plant based diet.
She went on to join a triathlon team for ladies affected by cancer. Dedicating her time to training, before competing at events in both 2018 and 2019. There were also more successful fund raising events with hundreds of generous donations.
On the 30th June 2020 Kelly passed away, but I strongly believe that her positive outlook, along with her diet choices and the willingness to explore alternative treatment options allowed her to live a fun and fulfilled life, right up to just a few weeks before she died.
The name Kelleco is to honour Kelly, while recognising the planet conscious and eco-friendly way she chose to live her life. "Kell" + "Eco" = Kelleco
As part of her legacy, we want to recognise her kindness and unwavering selflessness. 5% of every Kelleco sale will be donated to a charity selected by the seller. These charities and their volunteers work tirelessly to make each and every life a little easier. And I have personally experienced what a difference they can make.
By joining us on the Kelleco journey, you are helping to make that difference, no matter how small.
